Message from Dr. Larry Robinson
Dear Students, Faculty, Staff, and Esteemed Guests,
As we eagerly anticipate Florida A&M University's Spring 2024 Commencement ceremonies,
I am thril1ed to extend my heartfelt congratulations to all our graduating students.
Your remarkable academic achievements are a testament to your hard work, dedication,
and resilience. Commencement is not only a time to celebrate your achievements but
also a moment to look forward to the bright futures that lie ahead.
In alignment with the guidance from Chancellor Ray Rodrigues and the State University
System of Florida, it is imperative that we uphold the dignity and solemnity of our
commencement ceremonies. These events mark a significant milestone in our students'
lives and should be commemorated accordingly. While we firmly uphold the principle
of free speech, we kindly remind everyone that the commencement ceremony is a time
to honor and celebrate the achievements of our graduates in a manner that is respectful
and considerate of all participants and attendees. To ensure a comfortable, safe,
and respectful environment for everyone, we ask that you observe the following guidelines:
- Disruptive behavior, including outbursts, heckling, excessive noise, or signs of intoxication,
will not be pennitted. Individuals found violating this policy will be kindly escorted
from the venue.
- For safety and to minimize disruptions, the following items are not allowed inside
the Alfred Lawson Multi-Purpose Center: weapons, alcohol, drugs, noisemakers, flags/signs
(larger. than handheld), backpacks, laser pointers, laptops, recording devices, pets
(except for service animals), skateboards, fireworks, and any airborne objects such
as beach balls. A clear bag policy will be enforced.
- Discrimination or harassment of any kind, including on the basis of race, religion,
or national origin, is strictly prohibited and against both Florida law and our university's

goal is to ensure that the commencement ceremonies remain a joyous and memorable occasion
for our graduates and their families. Your cooperation is immensely appreciated in
creating an inclusive and celebratory atmosphere for everyone who has worked so diligently
to reach this moment. Once again, congratulations to the Class of 2024! Let us celebrate
this momentous occasion safely and responsibly, united in pride as part of the Florida
A&M University family. Sincerely,
Larry Robinson, Ph.D.
